Took a few hours but episodes 10 and 11 are edited, uploaded and scheduled to post on the next two mondays. We already have episode 12 recorded that I need to edit. It’s a discussion about comics with the owner of the friendly local comic shop in lee’s summit. That will be the last episode before the Gen Con Bonanza that we have planned for the first week of August!
“What?” you ask “is the Gen Con Bonanza?”
It’s an entire week of podcasts from the heart of table top gaming: Gen Con in Indy! That’s right, we’re crazy people and we plan to podcast all four days of the con, plus have bonus podcasts the Tuesday and Wednesday that week. That’s right, six, count ‘em SIX podcasts in a single week. I can’t promise that they’ll be long, I can’t promise that they’ll sound pretty, but they’ll be chock full of the gaming excitement that is Gen Con!
So last night while watching Mythbusters I was brainstorming ideas for future podcasts and came up with enough general ideas that we should be able to keep the podcast fresh for at least a year. I’m almost certain that new ideas will spring to mind as we go on, but for now I’d like to hear any ideas any of you may have.
On a related note, I may be contacting some of you to guest spot on the podcast. Let me know if there’s any subject you would like to talk about.
I’ve been searching for a good solution for recording game sessions that would give decent audio and maybe allow for podcasting. I think I’ve found it.
I’ve ordered a Zoom H2 Handy Recorder. I’ve been searching for a good, simple, and relatively inexpensive option and it meets those needs. I don’t need anything more than just the H2 to record and all of the reviews that I’ve read say that it’s great for the price.
I’ll be testing it out once it comes in, and should be more than ready for the first Hybrid Galaxy Game. (I’ll be testing it out with the Ghostbusters game to see how it does in a “less than optimal” recording conditions.
I just spent the day creating a list of about sixty some odd ships for the Hybrid Galaxy game. Now I’m going to go through the Starship books to make the design decisions for the game. Luckly I’ve already put together a warp chart for the game (it gives speeds a lot faster than Star Trek warp, but not nearly as fast as the retardedly fast speeds of Star Wars hyperdrive.)
