We sit down with Dayton Ward to discuss his career as an author, getting into writing, movies, music from the 80s, Las Vegas, Sci-fi and Star Trek conventions, convention panels, reading for fun and profit, arcades, pinball games, KISS, Star Wars Holiday Special, V, Planet of the Apes, James Bond films and books, the Alamo Draft House, Action movies, MASH, and Dayton’s experience in the Marines.
This is one of our longer episodes (but it is also a fantastic episode!) and clocks in at two hours and thirteen minutes.

This week on UnderDiscussion we just let the camera roll so to speak as we kick off No-Effort December. Unlike previous years, this year we’ll actually be putting episodes out in the last month of the year. All your favorite undergophers (and Brady) are here to discuss anything and everything.
This is also our Christmas episode. Sort of.
This week we discuss why Ed McMahon couldn’t run a major sports league, the star wars that might have been, an old shame, that a lot of sci-fi is really mostly just the “fi” part, an awesome superpower, plot holes of the Matrix, Total editorial control, who is Laurence Olivier, reminding you that Star Trek Voyager sucked, Tim tries to make a point about Farscape, States in order of suck, horrible sports team mascots, why tradition is never a good defense, a bad video game, Jean Claude van Damme, apparently there’s a soccer stadium in the kc area, Sporting KC’s unique memorabilia, hockey playing horses, Adventure Time, and that you should listen to Law of the Geek.
We manage to stuff all of that into a stocking about 54 minutes long.

So a lot of people called us on missing a ton of superhero movies. There were quite a few that I was ashamed at myself for missing, so we rectified the situation and recorded a quick followup to that episode that sort of morphed into a general discussion of movies in general. This one clocks in at 47 minutes.

I’m not apologizing for the pun title. Anyway, this week we discuss our fantasy casts for the Highlander reboot, the inevitable Justice League movie, and a potential Terminator reboot. I think that we come up with some pretty interesting casting decisions for all three films. This episode clocks in at around an hour and seventeen minutes.
