Would you be open to letting my son and I sit in some time? My son is crazy to start collecting 40k. I have played before but have not decided if I want to get back in. I used to have… well too damn much. Not sure what I would play if I got back in. I loved my Space Wolves but the Imperial Guard have all the neat toys. I had a good begining on a Dark Eldar army, but I sold all that to Phillip. I doubt I would do Fantasy again. Pat Roberts

For dealing with Marines and other Marine-equivalent (MEQ) models, plasma/melta/anything AP3 or better is a must. Since Dan’s tacsquads are about as classically generic as you can get, they’re not really equipped to handle anything in power armor. From the sound of it, your squads are set up similarly. I’m not surprised it turned into a slow slog of a battle.

The excerpt should only show on the top and bottom now. They actually clear the green text quite nicely.

I despair for the state of the arcade today. Back in my day (let me stoop and shake a little bit) arcades were wondrous places full of darkness pierced by bright lights from cabinets and screens with accompaniement by 8-bit melodies set on permanent shuffle. I’d love to see them return, but those games can be played on a dozen handheld devices now. Future arcades are going to have to offer something new, something that’s a step towards a holodeck from Star Trek TNG.

Carcassonne is one of my favorites and was one of my first designer game purchases. I have been selective with my expansions purchases, though. I have I&C, T&B and River II. I bought Princess & Dragon but prefer not to play with those rules, just using the extra tiles. I play it casually, which means i haven’t memorized the tile manifest, but I’ll play like a bastard to try to grab those cities from you.
